Quest: Mercenary Job

This page will show the details of how to become a Mercenary. A mercenary wields a sword or and axe and can later become a Slayer or a Knight.

Mercenary Union

Quest Starting Location: Eastern Flarine
Starting NPC: (Mercenary Trainer) Zandark
Quest Requirement: Level 15 Vagrant.
Objective: Go find (Mercenary Master) Ruks in North Flarine.
Reward: 1,500 Penya

Quest dialogue:
“Congratulations, you are level 15. But you cannot stay Vagrant any more. You have to choose a job. There are lots of jobs, but the best are Mercenaries who use swords and axes. You can even be a Knight or a Blade later. Do you want to be a Mercenary and use sword and axes? Okay, are you sure you want to be a Mercenary?”

Accepting Quest dialogue:
“Good choice! To be a Mercenary, you must find Mercenary Master Ruks and pass his test to be member of Mercenary Union. You can find him by using Hotkey Q, then you will see where he is.”

Denying Quest dialogue:
“There are other jobs as Magician, Assis, Acrobat, so give it some thought.”

During Quest dialogue:
“Ruks is at the North Square in Flaris with the other masters.”

Completed Quest dialogue:
“You must be the one who wants to be a Mercenary.”

Quest Starting Location: Northern Flarine
Starting NPC: (Mercenary Master) Ruks
Quest Requirement: Level 15 Vagrant, must have completed the Mercenary Union.
Objective: Get 5 Twinkle Stones from Aibatt then go to (Mercenary Instructor) Hyuit.
Reward: 1,500 Penya and Label of Technique

Quest dialogue:
“Looks like you already have enough power. That’s great. But, power is not everything. A Mercenary protects associates from monsters around them. I would like to test you first. Hunt Aibatts and get 5 Twinkle Stones. You can give those to the Mercenary Instructor Hyuit, then he will give you a note stating that you have passed the test.”

Accepting Quest dialogue:
“Hahaha!! Great. Then go and hunt Aibatts. You can find them by using Hotkey Q, then you will see where they are.”

Denying Quest dialogue:
“Already afraid of being Mercenary? Maybe being a Mercenary is not for you.”

During Quest dialogue:
“Get Twinkle Stones and go to the Mercenary Instructor Hyuit, not me. Use Hotkey Q to see where he is.”

Completed Quest dialogue:
“Wow. Twinkle Stones! You are 1137th Vagrant to pass the test today.”

Becoming Mercenary

Quest Starting Location: Eastern Flarine
Starting NPC: (Mercenary Instructor) Hyuit
Quest Requirement: Level 15 Vagrant, must have completed the Mercenary Master.
Objective: Give Zandark the note.
Reward: 1,500 Penya, Re-Skill, Bull Hamstern, Vital Drink X and Activition.

Quest dialogue:
“Too many successful candidates? But there are few people who continue on to become Knight or Blade. I hope that you can be one of them. Here is the note that you have passed the test. You can give this note to Zandark to learn Mercenary skills. I will tell Mercenary Master Andy that you have passed the test.”

Accepting Quest dialogue:
“Zandark is just next to me. Don’t forget to use Hotkey Q to see where she is.”

Denying Quest dialogue:
“Are you giving up already? If you want to change the job, it’s your choice.”

During Quest dialogue:
“Zandark is waiting for you.”

Completed Quest dialogue:
“Good to see you again. I can see that you have passed the test with this note. I knew you would pass! Congratulations on becoming Mercenary number 13213! These skills are to be used for the peace of Madrigal. Please accept this gift from the Mercenary Union. It signifies that you have become a Mercenary!”
